quilts as dance

My friend Dorry issued a challenge to members of the Reston guild I still belong to: each participant was given a dance (Salsa, Waltz, Tango etc) and some fabric with which to start their quilted interpretation. My longtime customer drew ballet/Swan Lake and this is her quilt -

Here's a closeup - she put on wide borders and let me decide how much of them to quilt. Well, give me some white fabric, and I'll give it some texture. I included the traditional quilt block called, "Lady of the Lake" in the upper right and lower left corners.
