Norris has been attending a three-day class for emergency vehicle drivers. Although some of it's classroom lectures, the biggest part of it is actually practicing maneuvers of big fire trucks in tight spaces. This picture shows one of the students going backwards through the serpentine course. You have to alternately swerve left and right around every cone, both going forwards and backwards.
Here the students had to navigate from one tight row of cones to an another tight row of cones that is offset about 10 feet to the left from the first row
This is the backing exercise, where you start out parallel to the curb, then do a tight 90 degree turn to back in between two rows of cones.
And finally you have to pull into (and back out of) a tight set of cones, coming to a complete stop with the front bumper kissing the center cone without knocking it over.

A number of cones were injured today, but none fatally.

Norris is now the envy of children of various ages (yes that includes children with gray hair) throughout the land. Many dream of driving the fire engine, not many get to.
