In summertime we often go to the North Asheville tailgate market to get our local produce and other goodies. The market usually shuts down for the winter, but starting last winter, the YMCA we go to has sponsored an indoor market for many of the same farmers and vendors that go to the N. Asheville summer market. Today, with temperatures nearing 70, the YMCA decided to move the market outdoors to take advantage of the good weather. If you looks close, you can see Cheryl in her new turquoise sweater jacket she got for Christmas.
27 vendors were scheduled to appear at the market today. Local produce consisted mostly of root vegetables, potatoes, various greens, and apples. We bought a nice bunch of sweet carrots and leafy greens to go with the fish we are going to grill for dinner tonight.
Norris also got an apple crisp bar from one of the bakers.
Several cheese makers were also there. Here, Cheryl samples some Havarti, which we bought as it has a much deeper flavor than the Havarti we normally find in the stores.

M-m-mm Havarti...my favorite!! We spent the day outside yesterday also. Looks like today will be another opportunity to enjoy this "summer-like" weather!!
