Delayed end to the water problem solution

We never posted a picture of the completed dry stream bed and deck project as it has taken quite a while to find someone willing to do the deck work.  We finally got someone who did the work this week.  The 2-man crew started Friday, then came back today to finish it off.  The stairs used to come straight down from the landing, but because of the new stream bed, we had to extend the landing along the side of the deck and re-route the steps down into a new spot.  The light colored wood is all new and will have to be stained in a few weeks after it has dried out some.  We had a heavy rain 3 days ago, so the dry stream bed got a good test and fortunately held all the water that came down the mountain. We have also developed a dry spring that flows for a few days after a big rain and that is what is making the path muddy.  We'll probably have to do something about that too.

Cheryl took the picture below from atop the retaining wall in the back yard.

Another view from the side yard.

I am sure you are very relieved to finally have this construction project done with. It looks very neat and tidily finished off.

problem solved...(except for the spring)...and it's aesthetically pleasing the way it comes to the side and the path snakes down the hill. I like it!
