First, a follow-up to the Bluegrass and Barbeque in Maggie Valley, a picture of the Tasters' Choice judging.
You can see this is serious business: the judges had to vow to the lengthy Judges Pledge before they could taste their 10 samples. Turns out there are more competitors than each table gets to taste, and this group apparently did not get to taste the winner. (Marvin is in blue - Norris' nephew Tevin is in the foreground in black.)
Here's another picture of Tevin, with his lovely wife Annette and their delightful son Kason. Kason was a year old in July but he's got long legs--probably twice as big as that, He just enjoys everything - including bluegrass and barbecue. We were so glad they came to WNC for the contest.
Finally, this next picture is of a bench that Norris had that was part of his Laurel Maryland home, It came to Reston with us but never was given a position of any importance. Marvin and Marla took it for Tevin and Annette, but look who's using it now!
