We drove back from Chapel Hill today, with frequent rest stops. As we approached home for the first time since the 9th, we saw this at the fire station -
It won't mean much to those of you who don't live in the valley, but it's the sign board that is normally toted out to announce the quarterly meetings the public is invited to attend - and the next one is not scheduled for another month. As we drew closer, we read this greeting:
And, in case we had missed it on the way in, it was also visible on the
other side.
Norris' fire department family has provided daily support to us. It's great to be home, and this makes us feel like V.I.P.'s!
(Cheryl went back to get the photos after we said hello to the cats and unloaded the Jeep.)

That is so sweet. They are a special group of guys. And after what I have witnessed the last few weeks, they think a whole lot of you too as well. Very touching!

Hi Cheryl and Norris, great to see Norris out walking and active after his operation and time away from home. The photos of both of you looked good. Thanks for the updates and we will keep an eye out for more. What a reception you got, how wonderful.
We are currently in our new apartment in Townsville. We purchased recently and just moved in to stay last week. Not much furniture at present but it is on order and will arrive some time soon we hope. Other than that all is good and the weather is wonderful. Erika and Brian
