who became great friends. Both Brian and Erika are fit and healthy and walked daily, going out early to beat the heat. So on Wednesday this week, while fall colors were peaking, Cheryl took some photos to share with her friends now back home on the other side of the world. Today's batch are from the part of the walk that Brian did - (Click on any of the photos for a larger view.)
Brian and Erika seemed to want to learn everything about the trees and other plant life along the road - so this next photo is a close up of the purple flowers visible in the above photo, on the bank in front of our house.
Wednesday broke very foggy -
but the sun came and went - sometimes, the fog creates these beautiful muted scenes where the trees that are still green glow in the dark:
And sometimes, you just get silhouettes of the trees:
Sometimes, the mountain slopes seem to have disappeared from their usual places behind the closer trees:
But on Wednesday, the fog came and went, with the colors shining through - the slope in the background just a darker version of the misty sky:
And if Brian were here to turn and look up as he headed back via the driveway, he would have seen this view of the slope above our house:

Cheryl, the fog makes for some very peaceful pictures! So pretty. Brian should stay through the Fall before going back, so he can experience it in person. This has been our best Fall yet!! Even the "experts" agree.
Your photographs are just gorgeous. Our Fall has been dominated by huge amounts of rain; such conditions do not make for glorious photos like these ones you have shared with us.
