Erika's Walk

A few days ago, we posted pictures of the neighborhood from Wednesday the 12th - these are the second half of those photos. Brian's joints didn't like the steeper slopes of this walk, but Erika was not a bit daunted.

This is the short uphill we have on the first part of the two-mile walk. We are always glad of it on the second half.


Erika was always eager and pushed a quick pace - these next two photos makes it look like a piece of cake, but except for the brief section above, the whole first half of the walk is downhill.



This little tree may have been landscaped there -

Here's the view back up the street as we turn around to go back - uphill almost all the way of course. In the fog, the slopes behind these houses have disappeared completely.

Headed back home - we'll use more pictures this direction because the fog was thinning.





We're nearing the end of the Boulevard -


...where we get to catch our breath during the brief downhill to the stream crossing.


Now we're looking at a mix of landscaped evergreens in the foreground and whatever nature put there in the background -

We saw this bank across from Erika and Brian's driveway from around the bend in the earlier posting -

And there is the mailbox marking what could be the end of the trail for Erika - but she always accompanied Cheryl past her own house and down to the end of the Lane and back.


It's much more refreshing in October weather than when it was sweltering in July!
